Cotton Rich Checked Pencil Midi Skirt

Saw this skirt in store (not my local) and liked it. Ordered online when I had a Sparks offer. Having only seen it on a hanger and online, where it appeared to be a midi as advertised was disappointed when I tried it on to find it was ankle length. I am 5'3'' so thought it would come up longer on me but not that long. The difference in length between back and front is also more than it looks online. Apart from these points I like the overall style, fit and colour so am deciding whether to return it. I would recommend it with a warning about length and hemline.

I am 5ft 8 in tall so this skirt was just the right length for me. I am also particularly pleased with the slimming pencil shape of the skirt. Too many skirts at the moment have pleats or gathers or loads of material which make anyone who is not super slim look very big on the hips. This skirt is excellent value for money and I would certainly buy this style again if it came in other colours.

This skirt felt very well made and fit perfectly.Pockets sat flat and neatly and it felt cool and comfortable.I found the shape of the hemline flattering and the splits fun.The material was a lovely mix and I think it will wash and iron easily.Loved the colour and checks.It was longer than I expected but I decided that suited the design.

Online this skirt appears to be one length when in fact it is shorter at the front. I have returned the item had it been one length I would have kept it.

Don't let my review stop you from trying this skirt. The fabric is good quality and it is well made. I was disappointed because the colour is blue and a dirty cream colour, and not as white as shown online. It looks awful with a white top. The elasticated waist is quite small in comparison with the hips of the garment, and the fabric looks as if it will crease easily. Not for me, but worth a try as it is good value for money.

I saw this skirt in a magazine and thought it would be great for holidays. The fabric was nice and wasn’t see through, and it was a good fit. However, I returned it because I found the waistband very high and thought that it would be too warm and restrictive on a beach holiday. If this wouldn’t be a problem for you then it was a good skirt for the money.

I ordered this skirt online into my local store, as they do not have it in store. It's a perfect fit for a size 12, although as it has an elasticated waist there's some give. Nice fresh material and pattern, and it can be dressed up or down. Pleased with my purchase.
