Cannot recommend new individual items
No, I don't recommend this
Bought an individual Hampton dinner plate, cereal bowls & side plate to extend the Hampton set I already have. Sadly the new bowls are much smaller than the originals & the dinner plate is larger than originals & stripe thicker, so I wouldn't recommend buying the new items unless you're not bothered about differing sizes & appearance

Light, simple dinner service
Took me ages to hunt down a light dinner service to replace my Maxim crockery which is too heavy for my hands which have become arthritic. Retailers don't tell you the weight of individual pieces, yet that is key information that affects how practical crockery is. Please note, M&S! Having taken scales into various stores to check this out, the Hampton is the lightest I could find. V pleased with purchase.

Elegant and simple dinner plate and a generous size. The side plates are a good size too. I really like them. I wish the dessert bowls were larger and big enough for breakfast cereal, not just a scoop of icecream. However, the dinner plates and side plates are beautiful, simple and elegant.

Single Hampton dinner plate

Already have the dinner set for 4 sittings so thought I would top it up with 2 extra dinner plates, side plates, bowls and pasta bowls Oh bit of a mistake- single dinner plates and side plates are bigger than the original ones in the set and the cereal bowls are smaller. Should’ve just bought another dinner set!

Slightly larger than the older plates i already have so the set dont match. They are difficult tk place on our dishwasher because of that. The spray arm catches them. Otherwise they are lovely plates.

Bought two dinner plates to add to six I already have. Unfortunately the new plates are very slightly bigger than my older plates and my kitchen cupboard won’t close. So beware!

I already bought this as a dining set. So many people have commented on how it is gorgeous to look at and elegant. It's proved to be hardy in the dishwasher too. When I decided I needed additional dinner plates and side plates, I knew this was what I would buy.

Why change the size ?

Bigger than expected
We broke a dinner plate from our set we bought a few years ago, so we’re delighted to see that M&S still sell them. We decided to order 3, which were delivered to our local food hall the next day - fantastic. However, we then found that they are very slightly bigger, about 1cm in diameter. This means they catch in the dishwasher and do not fit the microwave! I don’t understand why the size was changed?

Data Protection Breach
The plate is as expected. My issue is that all my confirmation and order emails go to my daughter in law on a completely separate address. The only connection being the same surname. This is an absolute breech of data protection laws and my privacy. I have tried on several occasions to have this rectified at M&S stores to no avail.

Love the design and slim feel of this dinner service.Reasonable price.Purchased the box set of 12 which was fine but why not make a 6 to 8 box dinner service. That was why I had to purchase extra plates as there was more than 4 people for dinner.
