Having purchased shoes on a regular basis from M&S these 3 I have just purchased appaer to be of a different standard. They may be Extra Wide but they are also Extra Flat. They are extremely tight across the top of the foot and was expecting then to soften and stretch but the qulity of leather is very different to any other I have had. At first they are just a bit tight and then they have become very painful.after 2 hours of wearing very unlike the rest of my M&S shoes. You really need a size up to overcome this and then they will look and feel like Flippers.

VERY POOR QUALITY - WASTE OF MONEY

Purchsed these on 13th July, I wore them for 4 days a week and I have a short walk from station to office where I am desk bound. It is now 28th September - so allowing for a 2 weeks holiday when I did not wear the shoes - total wear time 40 days - and then I got wet feet - the soles had worn through! Seem to be made of cardboard rather than leather. The heels are fine, the tops are fine too - M&S are offering very bad value here. The quality control is poor. I'm returning these shoes. You will too if you buy them.

Whilst very comfortable to wear, the sole is of poor quality and will not last. I have purchased 2 pairs of these and only managed 3 months out of each pair before there were holes in the soles.

After owning for less than six months, the shoes have now developed a deep split in the leather on the outside of the left shoe. Not the quality I would expect from M&S. Disappointed.

I have worn M+S shoes for 25 years.The quality of the product has slipped and in my opinion now represents poor value for money. I found these shoes rather tight even with the wide fit. I sent them back and bought a pair of Clarkes for the same money, which quality wise are in a different league. perhaps someone at M+S should do the same!

Now onto my third pair and each one has lasted 8-9 months.but not worn every day. Agree wonder why the sole is leather as if they weren't probably would be harder wearing. With regular polishing the leather stays looking really good Would recommend

I bought these in May 2011, sole worn through by mid July 2011 . Upper leather suffers from cracking and then discoloring even with using polish etc., The fit was spot on and comfortable and a decent style, however ,like one of the previous reviewers, its the second pair that this same problem has arisen .Quality of materials seem questionable.
