A deliciously crisp and precise Touraine Sauvignon Blanc from the prestigious Loire Valley, offering clean aromas of fresh cut grass, gooseberries and a hint of lime. The palate is mouthwatering and focused, with notes of pear and green apple.
This wine is from the heart of the Cher valley in the Touraine appellation, made with grapes from vineyards around the villages Oisly and Thésée. It was produced by a cooperative of local vignerons, established in 1961 when the growers of the two villages came together to take control of their own winemaking. Now with 25 grower/makers covering 250 hectares of vineyards, the co-op has gone from strength to strength and is today producing very serious Loire Sauvignon Blancs. The co-op’s technical director, Agnès Bardet, has worked with the growers for 20 years ago and has gotten to know each vineyard in detail. She now runs the winery and coordinates each harvest to ensure the grapes are captured at optimum ripeness, then vinified quickly to capture all their character.
