About this bottle: This red is from Spain's Utiel Requena DO, a rural area of Valencia between La Mancha and the Mediterranean coast. Wine has been made here for around 9000 years, mostly from the local Bobal grape, which here is blended with Tempranillo and matured in American oak casks.

A rich and fruit-forward full-bodied red with flavours of poached berries and black cherries.

About this bottle: This charming red hails from the Vaucluse, an area in the southern Rhône that's home to such famous winemaking villages as Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Vacqueyras. The secret of this area is its balance of sunshine and dry winds, which help produce ripe and healthy grapes.

About this bottle: Produced by the Yamantiev family in the south of Bulgaria, this wine's main grape is the country's own Mavrud, a dark-skinned variety with good structure and dark fruit intensity. Winemaker Ivana Yamntieva blends in Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon to add softness and complexity.

About this bottle: The history of Casas de Herencia stems from the houses on the vineyards where vinegrowers reside. The wine is made with Tempranillo and Monastrell grapes, the flagship varieties of the Valencia region with a combination of elevated sites and proximity to the sea moderating the hot Mediterranean climate.

About this bottle: While it's not a household name, the Trebbiano grape is believed to produce more wines than any other variety (it's even the grape behind French brandy). Here it is in its most familiar guise – a fruity, friendly and uncomplicated quaffer from the Rubicon area of northeast Italy.
