A punchy Aussie red from Rutherglen with characteristic plum pudding and black pepper aromas over prune, chocolate and gamey flavours.
Marrying two of the grape varieties that helped put Rutherglen on the wine map, this complex red has a pleasingly rustic edge. Blending 86% Shiraz, with all its poached red and black fruits and peppercorn spice, and 13% Durif, which adds lovely chocolate and gamey notes, the wine also features a touch of Tempranillo. To finish it off in style, winemaker Colin Campbell aged a portion of the blend in French oak barrels for 12 months, adding further depth and structure.
