Love your brogues but find them a bit full-on for summer? Go suede for an uplifting seasonal shoe update, says menswear editor Ian Wright
Back when the rules around men’s dress were much stricter, it would have been unacceptable to wear country brogues in town. Thankfully, modern attitudes are a bit more come-as-you-are and brogue shoes suit urban living perfectly – smart yet not overly formal. However, classic styles can look a little heavy, so soft but sharp suede is ideal for summer. This pair’s punched finish gives a laid-back confidence to everything from chinos to light-coloured wedding suits (great with a no-sock look), while they also sit well alongside jeans for autumn. Your only challenge will be which of the four trans-seasonal shades to plump for.
