PICK 'N' MIX

Bikini season is upon us. Be strategic with your choice and experiment with mix-and-match styles that best suit your frame and personality

If, like me, your top half tends to be a different dress size to your bottom half, making bikini shopping tricky, we’re about to answer all your swim-related prayers. Swimsuit shopping is difficult enough at the best of times without trying to conform to one particular body shape, so avoid the dilemma in the changing rooms and mix-and-match bikinis, choosing your size and style depending on your proportions. Pear shapes should draw focus upwards, avoiding anything bold or printed on the bottom half. If you have a sporty figure, halterneck tops and tie-waisted knickers are a winner, while curvier frames should opt for underwired styles and higher cuts to elongate the legs.
