THE LUSH
HANGING PLANTER

Simple touches such as plant-filled, wall-mounted box frames will lend a modern, stylish edge to your patio or garden, says Style & Living’s Becky Sunshine.

There’s often a question of how to bring a little interest to bare outside walls. It’s easy to create a cool, contemporary feel by wall-mounting wooden box frames filled to the brim with an assortment of sempervivums – evergreen succulent plants, more commonly known as houseleeks, which are often found around rocky areas in North Africa and southern Europe. I love the look of abundance in a garden, so I will style mine in small clusters. The best bit? They’re slow growing, hardy and easy to maintain for those of us with busy lives or who are not naturally green-fingered. Just make sure you place them in a well-drained spot with plenty of sunshine.
