THE FOODHALL TOP FOUR

As the woman responsible for curating the amazing food and flowers you see in our Foodhalls, April Preston has picked her four favourite things hitting the shelves this month in this, her first Style & Living column

1. Being a Taurus, our Angus the Bull Easter Egg (£5) really resonates with me. This little chap is a great character at a fantastic price, and he’s made from our unique creamy milk chocolate.

2. I so love seasonal flowers and this pretty, fragrant bunch of narcissi (£4) – grown in the UK – is my idea of floral perfection! I buy several bunches and dot them around the house; they’re a sure sign spring is coming.

3. Our new golden hot cross buns (£1.50 or two for £2.50) are made with blended golden wholemeal flour and studded with golden berries, sultanas, dried cranberries and pumpkin and sunflower seeds. They’re equally delicious toasted as they are with a hot cup of our gold label tea – and the whole family loves them.

4. There’s nothing better than a freshly baked loaf with salted butter. Our San Francisco-style sourdough (£2) takes 30 hours to make, using a traditional process and premium ingredients for a wonderful chewy texture and crisp crust. I love it with our Jersey salted butter – it’s the simple things!
