No matter who you’re buying for, everyone – secretly or not so secretly – loves to receive flowers. Whether you have them delivered to their desk at work or arrive laden with heartwarming blooms, there’s something joyful and uplifting about fresh-cut flowers. On Valentine’s Day, roses are de rigueur, but this year I’m going a little off-piste with my choice and plumping for this beautiful 29-stem ranunculus bouquet. Their deep scarlet shade still evokes the requisite romance, with their tightly packed buds slowly unfurling to reveal the flower in all its glory. Who wouldn’t be happy with that?
