WINE THAT’S TOP OF
THE CLASS

Fresh and fruity, this crisp white is the first of its kind from Joseph Marsh, the winner of M&S’ 2015 Viticulture and Oenology scholarship at Plumpton College

Every year, M&S sponsors the best and brightest in the UK winemaking industry to study at Britain’s foremost centre of excellence in wine education, Plumpton College. Last year’s scholarship was won by Joseph Marsh, who has crafted his first vintage exclusively for us – a tart, aromatic blend made in East Sussex from one of 2016’s most interesting grapes: pinot blanc. Often referred to as chardonnay’s understudy (both produce medium-bodied, acidic wines), this year pinot blanc is taking centre stage in wines like this zesty English white. Don’t wait for the sunshine to open it; enjoy its citrus and biscuit notes now with a bowl of garlicky mussels.
