INSTA-WORTHY STYLE

Want to be the first to shop the latest must-have pieces from M&S? Then you need to follow the M&S Insiders on Instagram. Here, five of the team show us how to wear the autumn collection

Dominique’s style: gorgeous dresses

Look 1 “I love knitted dresses and this on-trend rust shade is impactful when worn as part of a tonal look. This coat is made with a touch of wool to keep you warm. It’s a great length: you could dress it down with some jeans and a hoodie and trainers and a T-shirt. Or, you could wear it with a smart dress like I have here.”

Look 2 “This lovely tiered floral maxi dress also gets my vote: it has cut-out detailing at the neck and cuffed sleeves which add to the feminine feel. I’ve added a belt to give me more shape. The oversized aviator jacket is street-style inspired and a great everyday coat thanks to its cosy lining and casual, boxy fit.”

Charlotte’s style: city chic

Look 1 “I am fan of checked blazers, particularly when they are slightly oversized. This one is top of my wish list because it’s so versatile. I would wear it on the school run, then team it with a black leather skirt to go out in the evening. These blue ‘Mom’ jeans are amazing – they are a bargain at £25 and I love the fact you can get them in a longer length.”

Look 2Slip skirts are hugely in fashion and aren’t going anywhere for autumn/winter 2019. I have a slip skirt in every colour, but this gold style is a great shade to add to my collection. You can wear it with trainers and a denim jacket or with a chunky knit and boots easily, too. This coat is a great investment: it looks vintage but the checks add a modern twist.”

Nicola’s style: power prints

Look 1 “I’ve now discovered my love of slip skirts. I had always thought they were only for women with slim figures and not for curvy girls like me – but now I’m hooked. I love the colour and the print on this one, it’s really pretty. For an evening out I’d add a silky camisole, a navy blazer and a pair of heels. This plaid jacket is like a cosy blanket! I love that it’s oversized and goes with everything.”

Look 2 “This chocolate brown jacket is such a beautiful colour. It makes a nice change from black or navy and will go with a lot of different outfits. Leopard print is my favourite thing in the whole wide world, so I am in love with this dress. The print is navy rather than black so it’s a softer look and very wearable. It would look killer dressed up with red lipstick or dressed down with a sweatshirt and trainers for daytime.”

Patrycja’s style: ladylike polish

Look 1 “A soft cashmere crew-neck jumper and pleated skirt make a timeless combination that is ideal for a special dinner out. This skirt has a graphic Seventies-inspired print that makes it unique but also subtle enough for everyday wear. The metallic court shoes are comfortable and stylish thanks to the Insolia cushioning.”

Look 2 “I would wear this double-denim look on a casual day, strolling around town or shopping. That said, these jeans are also comfortable enough for me to wear all day on the shop floor at work. They’ve got lots of stretch and look good with leopard-print loafers. The blazer is a great investment as it will go with everything, season after season.”

Pria’s style: simple separates

Look 1 “This white satin shirt has an evening vibe but it’s a great day-to-night piece so you could wear it to work if you had plans for drinks in the evening. I’d either wear it with flats if I wanted a casual look or some heels to dress it up a bit. The cuffs are open, meaning you could wear as a statement sleeve or rolled instead. The animal-print earrings and chain-handle bag add interest and reflect my personality.”

Look 2Checked trousers make a change to my usual style, especially paired with trainers, but the colours are really autumnal – pink, blue, maroon and black – and are complemented by the dusky pink biker jacket. I’d smarten it up for the office with pink heels and the matching blazer to complete the suit.”
