Double denim is a less tricky trend than it seems – here’s how to master the look

Good jeans will never go out of style, but denim is having a particularly strong fashion moment right now. One of the hottest trends is all-denim outfits, encompassing dresses, boiler suits and that most daunting of looks: double denim. It doesn’t have to be scary, though, as long as you follow three simple rules. Firstly, wear like with like – faded with faded, as seen here, or intense washes with equally vibrant partners. Follow this rule and you can vary the shade within it, mixing darker with lighter denim, for example. Secondly, keep it relaxed. Tight, all-over denim is too Noughties Britney, whereas you’re going for effortless chic. Even if you’re hooked on skinny jeans, make sure the shirt is a looser fit. And finally, the accessories. Keep them modern, cool, understated and, above all, rhinestone free.
