  1. Sift 175g flour and 1 ½ tsp baking powder into a bowl and stir in 1 tsp sugar
  2. In a jug, whisk together 1 large egg and 175ml milk
  3. Whisk the wet ingredients into the dry, removing any lumps
  4. Melt 2 tbsp of butter and stir into the mixture
  5. Heat a little butter in a large, non-stick frying pan
  6. Drop 4 tbsp of the batter into the pan, spacing them out, to make four pancakes
  7. Cook over a medium heat for two-to-three minutes, or until bubbles burst and stay open on the surface
  8. Flip them and cook for another two minutes. Remove from the heat and keep warm
  9. Repeat to make 12 pancakes in total
