If you’re planning a festive get-together, our new Christmas dry gin is guaranteed to lift guests’ spirits. I love it for many reasons: the fact it’s made in my former hometown of Edinburgh, by brilliant independent producers The Old Curiosity Distillery; its heady notes of cinnamon, clove and cardamom; and the cheerful red label. It’s delicious in a Christmassy gin and tonic, garnished with fresh lime wedges and frozen cranberries. If you’re catering for a crowd, let guests mix their own drinks from a G&T station laden with cinnamon sticks, pink peppercorns, fresh citrus and rosemary sprigs, plus ice that’s been frozen with a few pomegranate seeds.
