Legal & ethical policies

Will M&S take back my old electrical and electronic items in store for recycling?

Yes, as part of our commitment to reducing the amount of unwanted electrical waste being incinerated or send to landfill sites, and to support the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations, our stores will accept electrical or electronic items for recycling free of charge on the one-for-one basis when the new item is bought from us. The item for recycling must be of a similar type or have performed the same function as the new electrical item purchased online or in one of our stores in the UK (excluding railway, airport and service station stores).

Simply bring the old electrical item in within 28 days, show us the receipt for its replacement and we will do the rest.

Disclaimer: We reserve the right to refuse an item for health and hygiene reasons.

You can also find local recycling points for your old electricals on www.recycleyourelectricals.org.uk/electrical-recycling-near-me, type your postcode into the recycling bank locator to find the nearest one.
