To make the syrup, put the
caster sugar (300 g)
into a saucepan with 150ml water and heat to dissolve. Add the
plums (6)
and cook until tender and soft. Crush the plums into the syrup and drain. Keep in a sterilised jar until ready to use.

Put the
M&S Distilled spiced rum spirit drink (45 mL)
, the
lemon juice (30 mL)
, 20ml of the syrup and a handful of ice into a shaker. Shake, then pour into a short glass. Garnish with the reserved plum slice and
cinnamon stick (1)
