Brushed Cotton Check Flannel Shirt

Excellent fit and price quality

My elderly dad has many M&S brushed cotton shirts - but no more. The sizing and fit have changed in such a way that the shirts are no longer suitable. We foolishly assumed that the L shirt would fit just like all the other M&S L shirts! Wrong! Far too slim and skimpy. Why would you choose to alienate an entire group of potential customers?

Bought this online during 20% off weekend as needed a second one; first was basically black. Not my first choice in colour but only version available in large at the time; delighted with colour which, described as orange, is tending towards brown in colour. Well pleased with it.

I bought the shirt as Xmas present for husband, but it felt so soft and comfy that I gave it him early to get wear out of it through Winter. He’s really pleased with it and iit’s now his favourite shirt!

It was too soft and woolly for me. I thought it would be more like the Pure Cotton Twill shirts i had bought before.

Great colour, was worried about purple - but good and earthy

This review applies to £39.50 range as well. These shirts are bought by a lot of mature men often of a larger build. Not any more !! This new improved fit is much tighter on shoulders and upper arms as well as being slimmer in the body. My husband is just size small but shoulders and arms are too tight. Medium would be too big in the body. Loose your older customers at your peril M&S. if the clothes don’t fit loose them you will.

I bought this in 3XL and 4XL as I've found M & S sizing very erratic. The 3XL was slightly tight around the middle so I kept the 4XL, but the sleeves were VERY long and I needed the cuff button moved in by a full 2 inches! It's not a bad shirt, but the choice in my size range is very limited - it's just a pity that the assumption is that because you have a large girth you must also have very braid shoulders and long, fat arms.

Looked cheap, the collar was very narrow and when buttoned down showed the collar band, buttons in the wrong place? How do these items get past final checking? Sleeves short.

Bought for my son. Soft, comfortable, casual shirt in a purple mix. Bought in the sale, not sure I would have paid full price as the material is quite thin for this type of shirt. Not washed as yet
