Balcon de la Villa Toro - Case of 6
Sorry, this item is no longer available
Dense flavours of dried herbs, vanilla and brooding dark fruit, this is a characterful and food-friendly modern Spanish red.
The Toro winemaking region is set on Spain's high western plateau. It is a land of extreme conditions: harsh winters, hot summers and arid and sun-drenched. As a result, the local vines - sparsely planted gnarled old Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) for the main part - grow small, intensely flavoured berries with thick skins. This makes for a sturdy food-friendly style of wine that marries perfectly with the hearty local cuisines.

Below average red wine
No, I don't recommend this
Although on 25% discount offer, this wine was too bitter. Good red coloured body but not very appealing taste. Unfortunately we bought 6 bottles and together with the other 6 bottles of poor quality Paradiso, this purchase is not one to be repeated.

Toro

An agreeable wine but expensive for a Vino Joven. I would expect a Crianza at this price.

5star Taste of Spain
Yes, I recommend this
My first taste of this truly delicious Spanish red was dining in the restaurant with some German visitors, one of whom has lived in Italy for over 30 years, and she chose this wine to accompany our lunch. As I was driving I chose not to partake but my friend was singing its praises and so I had a taste and was wowed by it. I noted the label and made it my business to look for it when shopping in the food hall. It would seem it is very popular and I was disappointed to find it missing from the shelves on most occasions, so it was a pleasure to see it available on line and I bought a case of 6 to keep me going, Salut!

Pleasantly pleased on all counts. Don't want to recommend it over the Internet but will certainly mention it at other opportunities! Really valued the very accurate product information.
