BACK-TO-SCHOOL ADVICE FOR PARENTS

Muddy knees, creased shirts and school lunch spillages – kids don’t always get it right when it comes to looking after their uniforms. That’s why we make uniforms for parents, as well as children. We asked three busy mums to share their back-to-school tips, which are sure to make you smile with recognition (and relief)

School polo shirts for messy play

Mama Stylista blogger and mum-of-two Deauvanné Jarvis has a daily battle to ensure her son Ziggy's clean white T-shirt doesn't get dirty before school. She usually fails. Which is why our stain-resistant polo shirts come in handy in her household.

What's more, Ziggy has sensitive skin, so Deauvanné was thrilled to find that the tees also feature our unique Skin Kind technology. Flat seams prevent chafing, and there are no rough edges or labels to cause irritation.

“I love the fact that M&S schoolwear caters for everything,” says Deauvanné. “It's durable, easy to iron, stain resistant and comfortable.”

School bags to collect trinkets and treasures

Paralympian and motivational speaker Jessica Smith's three-year-old daughter Ayla loves to collect things. Wherever she goes, she squirrels away everything she finds, from trinkets to leaves and flowers. “We even found a set of keys in her bag once,” recalls Jessica.

With school starting this year, a great backpack, which has pockets and sections for storing all Ayla's little treasures, is a must. Jessica just hopes Ayla doesn't bring home anything from school that doesn't belong to her.

Easy-care school uniforms

Finding school pants stuffed in sports bags is pretty normal for mum-of-two Mandy Sigaloff. So, she can't live without M&S's crease-resistant pants. “I don't have to panic, because I know you can pop them in the wash and they come out good as new,” says Mandy, who has two boys. No ironing required.

Quality and value are key; she wants to be able to pass her older son Ollie's clothes down to his younger brother, Tommy, when he's outgrown them. M&S schoolwear means she can do just that.

School pants sorted? Don't miss our school shirt with superpowers, loved by parents and kids, too.
