Vintage: 2012

Full of fresh orange and peach aromas, this bright, appealing white has a real richness and depth given by the sun-steeped Pedro Ximénez grapes. There’s a balance of mineral and grapefruit Sauvignon character, too, which lengthens the palate and gives a vivid spicy pep.

About this bottle: Made by Giorgio Flessati, an Italian from Trentino, this finely honed Chilean white has all the hallmarks of a fine Northern Italian white. Its clean, crisp, unoaked characters, combine full flavour with the utmost in pure fruit clarity. To achieve this, Giorgio chooses to hand-pick these grapes (85% Pedro Ximénez and 15% Sauvignon) and has given them a light skin-contact, before fermenting them at a cool 15˚C.

Vintage: 2012

A rich and elegant dry white offering floral, peach and dried apricot aromas over a seductive palate of honey and toasted vanilla notes.

About this bottle: Made with premium Viognier grapes grown in the Languedoc’s Hérault valley, this characterful Vin de Pays packs plenty of sunny southern French charm. With a proportion of the wine aged in oak barrels, the Viognier boasts a lovely balance between rounded fruit flavours and deeper, toastier notes, which continue to develop as the wine matures.

An elegant, fruit style of dry, unoaked Chardonnay with lemon and peach flavours which culminate in a wonderfully tangy finish.

About this bottle: M&S worked together with local producer Claudio Manera have left this wine unoaked to make an elegant and delicious expression of Piemonte Chardonnay.

Vintage: 2012

Crisp, bright, refreshing white wine with delicately fragrant fennel aromas (deeply typical of the Verdejo variety) and a soft, persistent palate with hints of apple and banana that mingle and develop towards the finish.

About this bottle: Winemaker Angel Calleja has been involved in Spanish winemaking since his graduation from Vid oenological college in Madrid in 1975. He knows just how to harness the full 2,600 hours of sunshine received by these Rueda vineyards each year, and ensures the ripe flavours of the Verdejo grape are balanced by the richness that comes from lees stirring (contact with natural spent yeasts after the wine has fermented).
