About this bottle: The ales from Woodforde's Brewery, which started production in the 1981, were inspired by the discovery of the diaries of an eighteenth century clergyman, Parson Woodforde, who was partial to the local ale. This Norfolk Bitter has most of its ingredients sourced from the immediate area, including water from the brewery's own borehole and Norfolk grown Marris Otter. It has a lovely balanced hoppy malty character.

The distinctive country shield of Essex with its three seax knives is referred to in works from the sixteenth century and is believed to date back to Anglo-Saxon times.

About this bottle: This bottle contained ale has been uniquely brewed using locally grown Cornish gold malt, traditionally malted using a special kilning process to develop a deep bronze colour and intense flavour. The sweet, lightly nutty malt balances well with zesty orange and spicy aromas from the hops.
