Shell Print Maxi Dress

I thought this would be a lovely dress to add to my wardrobe for the summer. Wrong!! A "big" let down. The dress is a lovely style, great soft material & a good price too, if you can find one to fit you! I am a size 12/14, usually a 14 in M&S, after reading reviews I ordered a12, far too big, returned & got a 10, still far too big, no 8 to try, so I have given up! Sorry M&S, a big boo boo on sizing on this one, very disappointed & I wouldn't recommend this one.

I was very disappointed with this item. I ordered my usual size14 but it was very big on the armholes and badlly fitting on the bodice gaping a lot at the back fastening. I then ordered a size 12 but there was little if no improvement. It was a better fit on the bust but still did not look good at the armholes or the back of the neck. Otherwise, it is a very pretty dress and I would have been very pleased to buy it if the fit had been better.

Soo long , will have to return.

I saw this dress on line and loved it but when I tried it on in the store it was way, way too long, even when wearing heels. I'm 5' 4" so not that short.Loved the style and the fabric but disappointed that there was no choice of length. The sales assistant said that several other shoppers had commented on the length so I don't think I am in the minority.

I adore this dress. The colours are so soft & pretty and the lace adds even more feminine charm to an already simply gorgeous summer dress. I had to buy a size that is 2 below mine to get this dress to fit, which required one return and time spent to try on in store but I'm glad I did as this is washed and worn as I love it so very much. Apart from it being rather large it is also very long and despite being 5'8" tall I had to turn it up by 3" to ensure it didn't drag along the floor. Please M&S make more of these beautiful, feminine, easy to wear for every age dresses... Despite the sizing issues and hemline it's a real winner. PS: Would it be possible to have dresses in a variety of lengths? A short, standard & long option would be great!!!

So I saw this in my local M&S Foods store as they sell a minimal amount of clothing. Couldn't find my size, an 18, so went for a 16 and it fitted perfectly with room to spare, so I'd say it comes up big and to size down for a more flattering fit. The material is very stretchy and the waistband ties as tight as you want it to, so you can nip it in or wear it a bit looser. I'm 5'8" however and it's almost to the floor on me with flip flops on, so if you're short you're going to need a pair of heels for sure. This is going to be great for hot summer days as it's airy and light and the lace detail at the top is just gorgeous. Very pleased.

I loved the colour and pattern of this dress but when it came I was disappointed. I am usually a size 18 and when M&S only had a 16 in stock I thought I would chance it because of the tie waist. When it arrived I pulled it over my head and was swamped by all the material! Even with the tie pulled in to the max it was still massively too big. I think I could get away with a 14, if not a 12!!

I love this dress but the length was even too long for my friend who is 5 foot 8ins. If you are making dresses this long please have a petite option. I have cut off 5 inches.

This dress has been designed for the exceptionally tall with no thought to the shorter lady.

This dress looked lovely on the website but sadly it's not for me. The fabric is a very fine soft jersey which makes the dress feel more like a nighty. Sack tied in the middle is the only way to describe the shape although it might look good on someone very tall with a tiny waist. The colour is very subtle and far more green than it looks in the picture.
