About this wine:

Few would expect to stumble upon lush vineyards of Sauvignon Blanc after traversing the dramatically craggy mountain scenery of the Calchaqui Valley. But here this grape thrives: fed by snow-melt streams fresh from the Andes, and 350 days of desert sunshine, it squeezes life and amazing flavour concentration seemingly from the bare rocks. Winemaker Alejandro Pepa believes in hand-harvesting and ultra-gentle pneumatic pressing to capture Sauvignon’s fine aromatic qualities.

Vibrant bright yellow wine with hints of gold. Its fresh apricot aromas sing out of the glass just as vividly, and the satin-smooth vanilla characters of the Viura and Chardonnay grapes – rounded and richly fulfilling – envelop the palate to a long finish.

About this wine:

From the Rioja Baja, on left bank of the River Ebro, its vineyards bordering the Spanish region of Navarra, this pure Viura stands proud, as a fine white wine amid a tide of famous reds. Winemaker Borja Ripa has added a small proportion (15%) of Chardonnay for extra richness and fullness, but this very dignified white needs no oak. The Manzanos family have been producing wine for over 120 years and is now in its 5th generation.

Serving suggestion:

Serve chilled and sip as a perfect aperitif, or partner with any seafood dish – from seabass to scallops and samphire. Or try it with a traditional Spanish Paella.

About this wine:

The steep granite hillsides around Monferrato offer the perfect conditions for growing Chardonnay. This one is made by one of Italy’s leading winemakers, Claudio Manera, who believes in gentle pressing and meticulous care and attention in the winery, to ensure the greatest possible vivacity and freshness in his wine. He leaves it unoaked, allowing the true Chardonnay character and expression to shine forward.

Serving suggestion:

Perfect for partnering risottos or a seafood pizza, or Moroccan-spiced couscous with roast pork. Or pair it with tasty toast toppings on Italian bruschetta bread. Chill it for cheery summer sipping and serve with goat’s cheese salads or simply on its own.

Wonderfully satin-smooth Viognier brimming with buttery vanilla aromas, with subtle hints of violet and green apple in the background. This is a gorgeously fruity wine that balances exuberance with amazing subtlety. There's a lovely mandarin and lemon tang of acidity and a firm, mineral finish that keeps it lively and tongue-tingling.

About this wine:

Charismatic English winemaker Hugh Ryman moved to France in 1974 with his family. After finishing his oenology studies in Bordeaux, he began flying all over the world - to more than17 different countries - to make wine. Today he has settled down, and this gorgeous Southern French Viognier is the result of gently fermented grapes given a three month rest on their yeast lees. No oak was needed to supplement this wine's vivid natural fruit characters.

Serving suggestion:

Deliciously ripe white all set for matching full-flavoured Coronation chicken, poached salmon and new potatoes, or a plate of mellow hard cheeses like Cheddar or Gruyère. A tangy finish makes it perfect with meaty fish like halibut or monkfish. Or try adding a little heat and serve with seared chilli tuna.

About this wine:

With the Andes Mountains to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Atacama Desert to the north and ancient glaciers to the south, there are many mighty influences on the wines of Chile’s wine heartland. At the centre of it all is the Maule Valley. Here, plenty of sunlight, dry, hot weather and fresh sea breezes make perfect Chardonnay territory. Winemaker Héctor Saldivia knows just when to harvest and crush the fruit to bring out its flavours at their finest. This Chardonnay is unoaked.

Serving suggestion:

Buttery, rich Chardonnay that’s great for serving with chicken or roast pork – belly pork with cumin seed, or pork chops with thyme and apples. Or pair it with rich fish dishes in lemon, cream or butter sauces, or fresh seafood: crab, fresh prawns or lobster.

Winemaker, Christian Rojas, has left this wine unoaked to retain this freshness.

Serving suggestion:

Serve this wine lightly chilled. It's ideal for drinking on its own, or try pairing it with barbequed tuna steaks or fresh grilled salmon with asparagus. It also matches creamy pasta dishes.
