Pyrenean Silver Goose Down 10.5 Tog Duvet

I bought this duvet on the strength of the excellent reviews but I'm wondering if I'm the only person who found the smell revolting. After 2 weeks with the windows open, burning candles in the bedroom and finally hanging it outside all one sunny day I could stand the smell no longer and returned it. I have 3 other goose down duvets, 2 from M&S and have never experienced this before. Perhaps I got a dud!

I bought this with 20% off full price so - good value. I needed a new duvet because the previous one did not have a boxed design and every morning I had to shake the down back along the channels! This is a good design - down stays in the boxes. I thought a 10.5 would be warm enough so although nice and light I reckon I made an expensive mistake and wish now I had waited and got a warmer 13.5 tog.

Since I have a muscle wasting disease, my old duck feather duvet had become too heavy for me and I had no option but to look for something lighter. This duvet is incredibly light but still as warm as toast! It seemed expensive but when I shopped around it was actually cheaper others of this quality so I feel I've got a good deal.

Lovely and warm and cosy, and very well made

Very light, but surprisingly warm. I love the neat pockets of feathers, this means that you don't get clumps and the feathers remain distributed evenly. If you like something heavy this is not for you.

This replaced our 13.5 Tog Duvet which we are delighted with as the weight is light and it is just as warm as a 13.05 duvet.. As an older person it is so much easer to manage, and I'm delighted with this purchase.

I have hit the jackpot with this duvet. Trial and error was becoming expensive and storing virtually unused duvets in my loft a bit of a joke. This one is perfect (if eye-wateringly pricey) but worth the outlay. I use a double duvet on a single bed so that there is a reasonable overhang and it is important that it should not be too heavy otherwise it drags down and feels uncomfortable. This one manages to be gossamer-light as well as warm and the 10.5 tog is ample for me. I highly recommend it.

I read all the reviews before making a significant investment in this duvet and the matching pillows. The previous reviewers were spot on. I cannot describe adequately the sense of luxury and comfort in this duvet. It's lightweight - so much so, you can barely feel it on, and yet at the same time, incredibly snug and warm without overheating! I had a slightly giddy feeling when I committed to such expense (!) but as others have said, the relatively high cost feels like amazing value once you're snuggled up in bed! I was lucky enough to get 20% off during the home event but I'd go as far as saying its good value even at full price. Even my husband (who never notices anything) has remarked on how comfy he is and when Mr M is driven to positive remarks, we know we are onto a winner!! I can highly recommend these goose down products.

On buying a new down duvet I had to take into account how the down was sourced and hands up to Markies as they were one of the few caring for animal welfare. I wanted a lighter less tog than my old 13.5 tog down and feather as it was too warm and also heavy. This duvet has exceeded all expectations. It is much thinner and really light so I was at first hesitant. I should not have worried. Its fantastic ! Its not the depth of winter but I have no heating in my room and it was a braw cold night last night! I was comfortable, warm and got a great nights sleep. The finish is also excellent and the material the down is encased in is quality. I priced the same like for like (all goose down is the same quality on studying up on this!) and this was a great price. I would have paid more due to my concern for animal welfare but did not need to. Good on you M & S. Perhaps worth mentioning you do this in your ads perhaps as more like me would take this into consideration.?

This is my second purchase of this duvet- this time for our guest bedroom. I love ours so much that I want all our visitors to feel as comfortable and pampered as we do every night. It's not cheap but you have to expect to pay for quality and this delivers. Next time my son visits, I know he'll struggle more than usual to get up in the morning!
