Pure Silk Abstract Print Shift Dress

I ordered size 10 and size 8. Size 8 looked more like size 12-14 and was far too big. The colours were pretty enough and the style might well have been flattering had the dress fitted. The lining was not the usual coarse material that so often spoils M&S dresses. The hem was a small machine stitched affair which spoilt the dress. I handed it straight back for a refund.

I ordered a size 8 - I am usually pretty safe with this size for dresses but the whole thing was just to wide, and even too big round the neck, so I sent it back. I think if it's available in a 6 and then I would like it but haven't checked as of yet. The hem was machined with a line of stitching showing at the bottom which looked a bit cheap but other than that it's a lovely dress.

My scores reflect the fact that the dress is a really good quality silk, and the style is floaty and feminine. However the big BUT is that for some reason M&S have overcompensated on the shift design and the sizing is too big. I ordered an 8 as this year all the dresses seem to be on the big side and I am normally a 10. This said the 8 was probably more of a 10 and was too big. Even worse M&S do not do a 6 which meant I had to send the dress back and couldn't get another one. Such a shame!

Wore this dress recently for a lunch with my sister. She thought it looked wonderful on me, which was nice to hear. Wore it with black heeled sandals and a short black leather jacket. All went well together. Lovely to wear with a nice lining.

This is a great dress! At last M&S seem to be back on track with good quality & good design.

This silk dress doesn't crease and is so light to wear. I like the way it kicks up at the front and looks expensive with high heels. The colours are subtle but a lovely mix. I had to go down a size to a 10 but that was fine as it fitted well. Great dress to take on holiday or pop in a bag to change into at night from the office as it doesn't crease. Very happy with the quality.

Fabric had a very nice feel and felt comfortable but style-wise it was the most unflattering dress I've ever tried - returned to store promptly!

Ordered size 14 - think 10 would have fitted better.

I'd admired this dress for a while so decided to give it a try. I have difficulty with back zips so an assistant helped. I loved it on. The dress suddenly came to life and the design was lovely. Although it's a predominately a grey/slate mix there are also shades of subtle blue. This is (for me) a special occasion dress and not a dress for casual wear. I would prefer to have sleeves but apart from that the style was beautifully cut. If you have a special event looming then I can certainly recommend.

I am delighted with this - good quality silk, subtle print & very flattering for my curves. More colours please!
