Pure New Wool Checked Wrap Pencil Skirt

This was a lovely skirt but did not fit correctly for me so unfortunately will have to return

Beautiful quality skirt using excellent fabric but ruined by the grosgrain tie & strips down the side . Did think of trying to remove them because I really liked the style & material but decide it was too much of a risk for such an expensive skirt

Very complicated to put on.The buttons were almost hidden.I will have to sew on the buttons on better.Nice quirky design and good material.I liked the satin ribbon on the side.Unlike many of the reviewers I found the size perfect.

I was looking for a dark grey long skirt and I got what I was looking for. There might be a hint of beige, but that doesn't matter. Very comfortable to wear and warm. Could have done with a button inside the skirt as the split can go a bit wide

Lovely fabric and style. Lots od compliments when wearing and feels more like a designer than high street purchase.

At last M&S - back to what you do best. British made 100% wool, lovely colour, pattern and design, fantastic quality, timeless, beautifully lined. Good value for money given the quality. Plus it's a chic, flattering length with the wrap style giving room to move, so very wearable. The visible ribbon trim down the side seams is lovely, it's not particularly obvious on the pictures on the website. Absolutely no hint of polyester or frumpiness. As other reviewers I do think it is slightly small for size but for me not enough to require going up a size. I found this item by chance on-line, having finally given up on the Autograph range which I was a big fan of. Really pleased I did.

This is a beautifully made wool skirt. The colours are dark charcoal and soft tan. It has wide, grosgrain ribbon down the side seams - an unexpected but elegant finishing touch. The sizing is a little on the small side. I'm a size 10 and the 12 fits perfectly. I took a chance on this skirt as I don't normally wear tan or orange shades. I love everything about it but sadly will be returning it as the colour combination really doesn't look good on me. I would love to see this quality and similar styles of skirt in other colours/checks, and herringbone or dogtooth would be a must-have!

This is a beautifully made skirt - I love the material which has the luxurious look that comes with pure new wool. The background is charcoal with a subtle brown check. It has a 'designer' look with the dark blue grosgrain trim down each side of the skirt. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the lining is good quality and I like the fact that it has a 'proper' hem eg the hem is about 1" in depth which helps the skirt hang well. Re: SIZE I am 5'6" and a size 14. The size 14 was too small for me and I had to go up a size to 16 - for a skirt costing this amount I am surprised that the manufacturer skimped on material. The skirt hangs to mid-calf on me and looks great with opaque tights and boots, as well as my Best of British laced shoes. #I like the look of the trainers on the model, worn with this skirt, but they are nowhere to be seen either online or in store!#

It's a lovely, well constructed skirt, but it will be returned because my usual size 14 is too small for me and I won't be replacing because all size 16s are sold. I would recommend the skirt as it's good quality and well made but you might need to size up.

Good design and the fabric and finish mirrored this. I loved, loved, loved it, but unfortunately it was too snug at the waist and hips; pulling especially where the buttons fastened. I am a size 12 in most brands but I do find M & S clothing a bit unpredictable in it's sizing. I ordered a coat from the same collection in a size 12 but it was massive on me. Back to the skirt; which is lined with a satin type fabric used on more expensive items, which indicates that M&S are returning to the quality and price range synonymous with the Autograph range of 20 years ago. It is easy to see that it is a well constructed garment, which included many design features. Looking forward to more of these higher priced, quality items.
