Pure Cotton Waxed Jacket

Very pleased with jacket. Colour and cut and material good. Reasonable price , would choose this item again.

Bought Large size for my Husband and it was too small so returned it. I have now tried six larger M and S stores over the last few weeks for this jacket in an extra large and there is next to no stock in any size in any of these stores. The website also shows no stock in any of the larger sizes which is very poor for a garment that has been heavily advertised. When is there any likely to be stock of this jacket in store or on the web site ? Remember no stock no sale!!!!

This coat will never be fully waterproof, but it is a stylish coat that can be worn during the Spring or Autumn when the weather is cool and dry and you need something to take the sting of approaching winter away from your body. It is not a winter coat for sure. I got caught out in a real wintry shower and the coat took hours to dry out. What I did when fully dry was to apply several coats of NikWax Aqueous wax for leather to it without damaging the coat. I use this stuff on all my shoes and boots and it works a treat. Just wipe the milky wax fluid over the coat, let it dry to a clear finish for two or three minutes and buff with a clean cloth. Try the water test and watch it roll off of the fabric. The other option is to give it a coating of wax cotton waterproof which NikWax do. I had the Aqueous wax to hand so used that. Next time I will get some of the NikWax wax cotton proofing and keep it well protected with that.

The coat is light and windproof if a tad warm .No way for excess heat generated by the lining to escape. The arms are OK if you have extra long arms if not you have to turn the cuffs up.A good coat spoilt by some rather basic faults.

I bought this wax jacket on the assumption that it provided some basic protection from the rain. Within 2 minutes of being in a light but perisistent drizzle my arms were soaked. I did not expect it to be goretex like dry but this is not acceptable. The special treatment given to the jacket is clearly just for cosmetic effect. On the positive side, fit is good, the style I liked very much but unfortunately its total impracticality renders it useless in the UK weather. Do not buy it unless you are happy to only go out when the sun is shining.

I am very happy with this jacket which is suitable for spring and autumn wear but unlikely to be warm enough for a cold winters day. The fit is slightly on the small size. I did try the xlarge size but the arms were too long even the large size could do with slightly shorter arm length. Overall I am happy with the purchase. I have been considering this jacket but felt it was rather expensive but when I saw it being sold £20 cheaper I rushed to buy one.

Needs better air movement in the jacket as it tends to draw sweat due to its construction, also should have a fold away hood to complete it for british weather. The cuff adjustments should be unseen under the arm and not at the top. Finally got the pockets right for all the modern phones etc and keeping them safe from thieves in crowds. Patch pockets on outside of the jacket should be studs not buttons to create a uniform look and make it easier for people with arthritis to close.

Very nice jacket, not sure it would keep you dry in a downpour but does well at keeping the wind out, lightweight, ideal for walking the dog and being out and about

Bought this as a surprise for my husband who was really pleased with the whole purchase. Normally sleeves are too short for him but size Lwas perfect. Colour is also alot better than appears on website.

I bought this as a birthday present for my son in New Zealand, and he is very pleased with it.
