A southern French red with fresh aromas of red berries, ripe currants and wild herbs over a juicy, fruity palate.
This wine is from Corconne, a small medieval village high up in the Cevennes hills of France’s Languedoc region on the outskirts of Montpellier. The area is famed for its deep and stony fossilised limestone ‘Gravettes’ soil, which was used to nurture olive groves but is now used for grapevines. For this wine, Jean-Francois Imbert blended the region’s classic grapes Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, which, due to the hillside locations of the vineyards are grown, have naturally restricted yields.
