Suits meThis is the fifth time I've bought this item in 10 years. Apart from a wobble ~ 4 years ago when the pockets wore through in less than a year, quality has been consistently high at a very reasonable cost. Last pairs, bought 2 years ago, still in very good state but consigned to being "working" clothes - and likely to have another 2 or 3 years of hard wear before being finally relinquished.
Fit has not varied over the last 10 years which gives confidence in ordering. Style not important to me but I think they look good on me - semi-smart enough to wear with a casual jacket. Overall, excellent value for money. Shall buy again!

Very high waist jeans.I purchashed these jeans on line but didnt realise they sat very high on the waist, so I had to go to the store to change them. I couldnt see anywhere on line to say they were this style but perhaps I missed it. Funnily in store the same jeans had a stitched label saying very high on the waist, but all the tie on labels said sit on the waist. I did ask the girl if people actually bought very high on the waist jeans (apart from Simon Cowell). She smiled and said not many. Why on earth do you sale jeans that come up almost to your chest. Anyway thats just a personal view, I actually exchanged them for a pair that fitted slightly below the waist which were much better.

Why have they changed?I've been wearing the M&S "regular stretch fit jeans with stormwear" for quite a few years now.During that time I've experienced subtle changes to production, however the most recent pair(s) I purchased are not anything like how they used to be.
The last good pair I bought was in September 2014. These were true to size, the right colour and fit. The pair I purchased in June 2015 are a different cut and fit; a different colour - despite being the same "tint" description; and quite frankly are a different size.
They're still a quality item, but disappointingly not what I had come to expect from this jean.
They have been consigned to the "charity shop pile" as these changes mean they're not my jean of choice any more. It's a sad day!

Beware the Mole!Mole colour that is. I have several pairs of these jeans in blue, indigo and black and all are a great fit. However, I decided to be adventurous... and go for the colour mole.Bad decision ; first pair were 11/2'' short on leg length so toddled back to the store and tried on two more pairs. Both were too short.Next visit to another M&S store took tape measure and would you believe it? Yes, both pairs in stock measured 1'' to 2'' short of the 33'' length that I needed.Back to the same boring colours now..... or even perhaps a different shop!!!

Jeans for casual wearI ordered these to replace the previous Stormwear with Stretch Blue Harbour jeans I had bought on a number of occasions over the past few years. Unfortunately these are no longer available. The M&S collection equivalent is similar to the old Blue Harbour ones but are of a harder texture and don't feel as soft and comfortable as before. I did consider returning them but couldn't find anything better in M&S when I visited the shop so decided to give them a try and hope that they become softer once washed. I normally buy a few pairs, wear for leisure for a period then use for work.

Great Jeans... But Could Do Better..!!!The jeans I bought were very good but I feel slightly cheated..!!! Only in the fact that the shortest leg length could be shorter, unfortunately I don't have the longest legs so a 27" leg would make a lot of difference to me, and a lot of others too I'm sure. You do make 27" leg jeans but only in one colour and only on line, but worse than that you charge £10 more for a shorter leg, but the longer leg lengths are all the same price, how does that work?? I feel this is a situation you need to address to even out the balance. But all in all I'm very pleased with the jeans of which I've bought 2 pairs, but will now have to pay to have them altered.

What have they done to the fit ?I have been wearing these jeans for a few years, but M&S have successfully managed to ruined the fit, as per previous comments, they are a good fit at the top and lower leg, but too skinny at the knee - THEY ARE NOT A REGULAR FIT. Do not purchase unless you are looking for a skinny fit. I had to buy the more expensive "Staynew" jeans at £10 more to get the regular fit.

Regular fit jeansAlthough I ordered a larger size I found the jeans to be a much tighter fit than I like despite being described as regular fit. In the past I have always found M&S trousers to be very comfortable and relaxing but the modern styling seems to be based on economy of material and to emphasize tightness. I prefer the older style which I can still wear with comfort although a size smaller.
The actual colour of the jeans was significantly browner than portrayed on the website and certainly not Fawn.
