Pure Cotton Regular Fit Moleskin Trousers is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 100.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed First on-line purchase with M&S and probably the last. Have been purchasing Moleskin Trousers in-store, Probably 6 or 7 pairs in the last 6 or 7 years and they've always been excellent quality. Wish I could say the same for this purchase. Obviously a cheap imitation for on-line sales or possibly outlet stores. On-line price was £35 but item arrived with £29-50 price tag which I consider would still be over-priced. Returning to store to exchange for a different pair, maybe a little more expensive but a small price to pay for your usual quality items. Apologise for not star rating this item but feel it falls short of deservig even the lowest rating.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bring back the Elastane! I’ve bought many of these trousers in the past. After reading the many critical reviews posted here I decided to try 2 mail order alternatives. I had to return both as they were cut differently to the M&S ones and didn’t fit - too tight in the waist + too long in the leg. Instead I’ve bought the M&S offering. It looks OK and fits OK. Time will tell if it is as hard wearing as old ones were. I too regret the loss of the Elastane, which was their unique selling point vs. their mail order rivals. So I hope and expect M&S will reverse this deterioration, done presumably to meet a price point. The comments here show it is far, far easier to lose loyal customers by mucking about with a popular product than to find new ones by offering a product no better than dozens of others.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Huge disappointment I ordered one pair on line, 30x31inch black. I tried them on in store and both my wife and I liked the fit. On the strength of that I ordered 3 more pairs in different colours. In the meantime the first pair were washed as per instructions and we couldn't believe how much they lost their shape. All pairs were returned. These jeans are nowhere near the moleskin jeans you were selling 2 years ago. What has gone wrong?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from no longer keeps its shape These trousers look similar to the moleskin jeans that were sold here for several years. However, these ones use a plain cotton fabric instead of the Italian moleskin previously used, which contained a small amount of stretchy material. That hint of stretchiness is what gave moleskin jeans their superb unisex fit (both I and my male partner wear M&S moleskin jeans). Alas, these new ones look plain and baggy next to even well-worn ones made from the old fabric. Have the buyers perhaps prioritised marketing over quality? If so, this is a pity. A touch of Elastane is qualitatively different to a full-on stretchy shiny fabric. I'd be happy to pay more for well-fitting trousers, with quality lining and detailing, but won't be back to buy more of these plain cotton ones with hastily finished pockets, odd shaping around the zip, inconsistent leg seams, and floppy fit. Instead I'll be wearing my older pairs of M&S moleskin jeans until they wear out, and then look again for alternatives.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trousers have lost weight (I wish I had) I saw reviews of these saying they weren't as good quality as previously, but thought I'd give them a try. On opening the parcel (bought online) you can see immediately that the fabric of these trousers does not have the weight you'd expect from moleskin. To check out this impression, I weighed them and compared this with a clean pair bought last year and worn a fair bit. Result: Oct 2017 pair: 508g inc. labels Oct 2016 pair: 575g, no labels If you reckon the old ones probably lost at least 25g in wear and the wash (all that fluff in the tumble dryer comes from somewhere), then the new product is about 100g lighter than the old one. A drop in quality of about 17%. That's not nothing. You can see and feel it. Reader, of course I returned them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Moleskin jeans Been buying these moleskin jeans for years and have had countless pairs, but unfortunately the quality is just not the same now .The cloth is not as substantial ,construction inferior ( black jeans white stitching inside inner seam ? ) to before ,less rivet detail and lining quality, plus now no 2% elastane .Of course they are far less expensive than when first brought out under the Blue Harbour label (Italian moleskin) but I wish M&S would make them like before, perhaps Autograph .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Moleskin Jeans Oh dear M & S.! Why change a winning formula. Whilst more expensive, the previous jeans were of a much higher quality and fit and I for one am happy to pay for quality. Sadly you have just lost a customer for this item.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in the reduced quality I have been buying these trousers for years, so I have been pleased with them in the past. They used to fit well, wash well and last well. These latest ones don't do any of that. In reducing the price the quality has suffered unacceptably. I am happy to pay the old price for the old quality or pay more for better quality - can you do that?
