Now shorter, why?I've just ordered another skirt in the same size using the product code from my daughter's school skirt but when I've get it home I found it is a good 3 inches shorter than the original. There is no option for longer/shorter length so why have M&S shortened the length of this skirt. My daughter is very short for her age (12) and this skirt is way above her knees. This is totally inappropriate for school and M&S needs to start listening to feedback or risk losing more custom. Our schools have a strict uniform policy which is increasingly difficult to adhere to when more emphasis is put on style rather than practicality. Please, please M&S listen to your customers and get back to supplying the best quality uniform which meets schools policies.

School UniformI have been buying my daughter's school uniform, as well as my own work staples from M & S for at least four years. With this skirt, however, I was completely dissatisfied. The skirt was far too short to be considered school worthy and would not conform to school regulations by any standard. I brought the skirt back today and looked for another suitable alternative but was disappointed to find that all the skirts available at M & S were unsuitable. My daughter is a regular 5' child of 12 and this skirt was at least 3 inches above her knees.

Way too shortThis skirt in age 13-14yrs is very short for school. My daughter is 14 and very slim, the waist would have to be pulled in as far as is goes and the length is ridiculous. The label says height up to 5ft 4.5in but my daughter is only 5ft and it was not suitable. Why do M+S make their school skirts so short?

A happy 10 year oldThe skirts I normally buy (all M&S) usually come down just covering my daughters knee, but now she is at middle school she feels frumpy! I have just bought this skirt for the new school year and she is very happy with the length. Short enough (about 2 inches above her knees) to keep her happy but long enough to keep me happy! She is an average size waist but does err on the shorter side for her age. Quality is good, thinner than some of the other skirts but still more than acceptable.

My favourite school skirtThis skirt was recommended to my daughter by three friends. It's a little short for the ideal school length, however this is precisely why the girls all love it so much. It's a nice quality proper school skirt, without being frumpy and having to be hitched up / rolled up to be fashionable.
We're very pleased with it.

Order a few - the sizing is variedMy daughter had two of these in size 14 to 15 years. They were just long enough with tights but were going to be indecent when she changed to socks for the summer. (She is a slim 5ft 2 ins - so not tall). Looked everywhere for the required style in a longer length but no luck then my daughter told me that her friends had the same M and S skirt as her and in the same size but theirs were longer. Enquired in store in case I couldn't drive the on-line site but was told - one length only. So I ordered the same skirt again in 14 to 15 and in 15 to 16. The size 14 to 15 is more than two inches longer than the larger size and one inch bigger on the waist. So if you want this skirt I would suggest ordering the size you think you want and one either side, and maybe even two of each. Bizarre and annoying. It's the same with M and S bras. Worth it in the end but what a palaver.

This skirt is extremely short. This is way too short for my 13-year-old. Shorter than the smaller size we bought last year. Why can't you list the length of the skirt in the description?
