Boys school trousersMy son is an average 7 year old and these are the only school trousers which I can find to fit him.
The current fashion for "skinny fit" has made it almost impossible to find anything in his size (age group). To get the waist and hips to fit I usually have to buy 2 years older and then take up a lot of extra material.
These trousers are ideal - they fit in the waist and across the bottom and hips with plenty room for climbing. With the pleat front they are nice and smart. They wash extremely well and if hung up to dry don't even need ironing. Great buy for active normal sized boys.

Size not a true reflectionI ordered 2 pairs of these in Summer ahead of my son starting senior school and they were absolutely fantastic. Fitted like a glove - perfect.
I ordered a further 2 pairs in October and both pairs were smaller than the originals ordered in the summer.
One pair he couldn't even do up but I can't return as I had removed the tags and I assumed beings I had ordered the same items, they would fit and the other pair do fit but are noticeably smaller and are not a true reflection of the size I ordered
Disappointed as if the second order would have fitted the same as the first I would have ordered more but the sizing has now put me off.

Boys School TrousersI ordered these thinking that they would be the same as my sons old M&S trousers but unfortunately they weren't. My son has Aspergers and has sensory issues, so finding trousers that do not irritate him is extremely difficult. We have always relied on M&S trousers as being the best fit for him and his previous trousers suited him perfectly (once I had cut out all the labels!). However these new trousers did not suit him. The inside of the pockets were lined with a viscose material which he didn't like next to his skin, his previous pair of M&S trousers had cotton lined pockets. So we had to return.

Long Lasting Great Value TrousersI have been buying this style of trousers for my boys (who are 13 months apart) for the past 4 years - they pass them down and when they've grown out of them twice I pass them on, they don't look tatty either, great quality. My boys are almost 7 and almost 8 and age 5-6 and age 6-7 are still a bit long, but they are the smallest in their classes so I have marked How Did It Fit as "True to Size" because they probably do for average sized boys!
Great product, can't recommend it enough, much better value for money than cheap supermarket trousers that don't last for more than a term or two.
Oh, and they rarely need ironing if you don't leave them in the washer too long once it's finished and then hang them to dry :) .....bonus!

Not sure whats gone wrong...I have been buying M&S uniform for 6 years I have always found the trousers good and long lasting, until now. I bought these trousers for my son to wear to secondary school he has only worn it a week and already the stitching has come away. He only has one pair because for some reason this year there has not been enough stock of trousers in the relevant sizes or lengths and therefore you end up with one pair which in my case are now torn...very disappointed this year not sure i will recommending marks for a while...

School trouser too shortI ordered the next size up age 15/16 years on the basis that they would be a longer length than the size below to find they are the same length so too short. Children grow in height and trousers should reflect this. Am going to return them. Why are the longer length trousers never available for older teens, always seem to be out of stock. So go up a size and get a bigger waist but no longer length, seems wrong to me

The only school trousers!Having twin boys I have bought M&S trousers for 9 years and won't consider purchasing any other trousers. The only thing that has confused me is that the trousers I've always purchased haven't always remained on the site or under the same code so I have had to send some back as some of the M&S trousers are very thin, this particular model are hardwearing and look very smart.

Good quality, price, and styleI purchased these school trousers for a child who is fairly well-built and they fit him perfectly. His brother is much slimmer, therefore the slim fit style fits him better. They both like the fact that there are a few pockets and the waist is adjustable so they do not need to wear a belt.
M&S school trousers are so satisfactory that I would not consider shopping anywhere else for this item. I have done so in the past and found that the quality and fit were inferior. The quality of the M&S trousers is first class and the price very reasonable.
