Shorter than stated. The size 14-15 extra long trousers were meant to have a 34 inch inside leg according to the label, but were actually 32.5 inches. I know they can be let down by an extra 1.5 inches but the size my son had last year - 13-14 extra long, also had a 32.5 inside leg, as stated on the label. The old ones still have the extra 1.5 inches, allowing them to be lengthened to 34 inches. The only difference in the new pair is an extra inch in the waist. Since my son is just as skinny as he was last year I've returned the new trousers and let down the old ones. Maybe the sizing policy has changed, or maybe it is unusual for a child to need trousers this long - he's 5' 10" tall at 14.

Son's school trousersI ordered two pairs of Boys' Longer Length Supercrease Adjustable Waist Straight Leg Trousers for my son. As he is very tall and slim, I ordered the long length trouser which was supposed to have an inside leg measurement of 32 and a quarter inches. When my son tried them on they were too short. I measured the inside leg to find that they were only 31 inches long. I found this very inconvenient as I had to take them back. My son ended up wearing last year's school trousers and I had to take the hem down on them so that they fitted.
Please make sure your measurements are the same as stated on the label and on your sizing chart on your website.

Long length school trousers. We had to resort to buying a smaller size trousers with a longer length as a replacement as M & S no longer seem to do their slim fitting trousers for boys. We didn't want a fashion skinny/slim fit as an option , just the normal style but ones which would fit a very slim child. This option has worked for us and I will do the same again, unless M &S decide to stock slim fit again, please remember there are slim children as well as those needing plus size!

Great for a slim 17 year oldI liked the quality and material of the M&S 15-16yrs school trousers and my son stayed on as a sixth former. He has grown in height but not waist size since he was 16. The elastic inside being adjustable meant we could get them to fit his 30" waist but they will still fit if he fills out. The long length is a bit longer than a 31" inside leg and has a double hem, so there is also room for him to grow a bit taller. The legs are a little wider than his previous trousers, which may be partly due to the crease, so we are hoping it is not quite so super and will look softer after a few washes. Maybe a slim fit would have been perfect, but these look so much better than his "half-mast" ones.

Good school trousersMy son is in Y10 and just over 6ft so long fits him at the moment. He doesn't like the trendy tight fit as he says there are uncomfortable around the knee when you sit for a while but these are great not so tight more of a straight style.
Wash well need some ironing but not much just what you need really.
Would like M&S not to run out of the long, so often they aren't available, son got paint on some in January and had to wait ages for stock available to buy, M&S need to look into this.

Finally found school trousers that fit perfectly! At last - some trousers for the slightly bigger lad! By buying him a bigger size in short length - I dont need to spend hours turning up hems ready for the summer term.
My only criticism is that on the website - the short length school trousers are listed under "boys longer length supercrease" - so I couldnt find them at first.

Fab TrousersMy son is 4 years old has long legs with a small waist so to be able to buy trousers in age 3-4 with longer leg options is fantastic. I would usually have to buy older age to compensate the leg length which means the waist is too big even with the adjustable waist they would bunch up in the groin and look awful. Great quality thicker material than most, no holes as yet wearing since Xmas, wash well, only need a quick iron and they have the elastic waist as needed for Nursery & Reception which is required at his particular School. Overall extremely happy and wouldn't buy his trousers from any where else other than here. Also forgot to mention the hem is cleverly sewn that there's an extra 2 inches you can let down so they should last the whole year. At £9 per pair more expensive than most but worth it for the right fit.

Mrs RDI feel sorry to have to write this review. My eldest son is 13 and has always worn m & s trousers for school. The quality has always outweighed any price difference but something has changed. As usual last year I bought several pairs which lasted the whole school year. I ordered the next size up for this year but after a single ' quick 30' wash they had shrunk over an inch in length and were infact smaller all round than the pair I was replacing ( they were not tumble dried either!) I was a bit fed up but decided to move on and order the next size up again to allow for shrinkage ( I always buy extra length trousers). When they arrived they were only just long enough. I measured the inside leg and found it almost 2 inches shorter than the label stated. I know that there is a ' let down' hem which is fabulous but surely the length stated should be that of the initial trouser length otherwise where is the benefit? I am now turning to bhs who do a longer length trouser thant is actually long! M & S please bring back you extra long trouser length and please please please pre shrink your clothes!
