Christmas Hyacinth Trough

Position- Stand the planter indoors in a bright position, such as on a windowsill, to encourage flowering. A temperature of between 13 and 18°C (55-65°F) is ideal; avoiding rooms which are too warm will help prolong the life of the flowers. Care- Turn the glass every couple of days to maintain growth as stems may grow towards the light. Keep the compost and moss just damp; do not waterlog. After flowering the bulbs can be discarded, or if desired you can get them to reflower. Hyacinths should be allowed to die back completely, then take out of the vases and store dry until autumn when they can be planted in the garden (they will not reflower indoors).
