My husband has trouble buying trousers and he used to have M&S ones but this summer they seem to have shortened the zip which made life very difficult (saving on cost I suppose, but not a bright idea) or the alternative is buttons which are even more daft. Not everyone has supple hands and the buttons are a devil to open in a hurry (another bright idea). I bought these just on the off chance that they would be a good fit. The colour was not near the photo and was ghastly, the fit though was too baggy on him so back they went. I have now given up getting him a pair from M&S as its not worth the hassle, shame though.

I don't like when M&S produce a "value" range of clothing and then claim that it's still the same quality, only cheaper, because we all know that there has to be compromise on something. This is this the case in these Chinos. the pockets have been narrowed to save on material; likewise the back pockets. However, in their favour they do have a reasonable number of belt loops (7), and the fabric is a pleasant twill. Reasonable value for money, I would say, but I only bought these because I could not find any others that fitted correctly. On another matter, yet again I had to order these in, because M&S never seem to have enough of the "popular" sizes (in my case 38" 33"). I visited 3 M&S stores and all were sold out of my size. Note to M&S buyers - don't buy the same amount of each size, buy more of the 34" - 38" range as that is what most of your customers are.
