Product Description
A classic Rhone white, with perfumed floral soft Viognier noted aromas, rich and creamy on the palate with luscious peach fruit and a pithy lemon twists which refreshes on the finish. A subtle minerality overlays on the length giving this an extra dimension.
The talented Pierre Benetière farms a small, 1.3 hectare estate in Condrieu, as well as two plots further north in Côte Rôtie. He has built up his estate carefully since 1988, taking a hands-on approach to both viticulture and winemaking. Pierre manages his vines with organic practices, encouraging healthy top soil activity. Pierre is quite a traditionalist, preferring to hand-harvest his beloved Viognier grapes and then pressing them as whole bunches before fermenting their juice in mature oak barrels with natural yeasts, where they can develop slowly. The result is a wine with great depth and bags of ‘old school’ personality.
