A classic, top quality red Bordeaux, beautifully well-balanced, smooth and rounded, with a rich core of cassis underpinned by fine oak and a hint of cedarwood.
This Margaux area of Bordeaux has always been highly acclaimed for its well-structured, seductive reds. This superb example was made by Denis Lurton at the classed-growth estate of Château Desmirail, which his family has owned and rejuvenated over several decades. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives fine body and classic blackcurrant flavour, blended with 40% Merlot for softer roundness. The wine was matured in oak barrels for between 12 and 18 months.
