Château Cordet - Single Bottle
Product code: 00073196
Sorry, this item is no longer available
A medium-bodied claret, deep garnet in colour, with a bouquet of sweet red cherries and raspberries over bergamot, spices and graphite back-notes. The palate is rounded and elegant at first, with sweet fruit giving way to a roasted pepper stalk savoury finish.
Château Monbrison was founded in 1749 when it broke away from the neighbouring Château d’Arsac and became an independent estate under the guidance of M. De Copmatin. It remained a small property until 1921, when an American, Robert Davis, bought the property after returning from the First World War and marrying Kathleen Johnston, daughter of the famous négociant Nathaniel Johnston of Château Dauzac fame. Now a new budding estate, Château Cordet, has been launched as a junior property to Mondbrison, with access to some of the older estate’s 40-year-old vines. This 2012 wine is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon balanced with 20% each of Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
