These fun and flattering Brazilian-style knickers are available in a range of bright new shades – as great choice for summer, says M&S.com lingerie editor, Maggie Davis.
Every now and then, a lingerie style becomes a cult hit. These low-rise Brazilian knickers, available in a rainbow of shades, are the perfect example. Soozie Jenkinson, M&S head of lingerie design, created the shape when one of her designers returned from Brazil with a bikini similar to those worn on the beaches of Rio. “We were inspired to create a new knicker shape, emulating the cheeky and flattering cut,” she explains. “That was back in 2005 and since then it has become our most popular fashion knicker.” Jenkinson thinks it’s down to the perfect balance of femininity and function, plus the fact that the Brazilian cut suits a variety of body shapes and has no VPL. With more than 20 colours and prints to choose from this summer, including the vibrant, new carnival-inspired brights, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
