LOOK-GOOD,
DO-GOOD DENIM

Ethical fashion and lifestyle blogger Wendy Graham on why these jeans look great and are good for the environment

A flattering pair of jeans is a wardrobe staple, but it needn't cost the earth. M&S has committed to source 100 per cent of its cotton from sustainable sources by 2019, and these straight-leg jeans are a prime example of that initiative. They're made from 99 per cent sustainably sourced cotton, grown by farmers in India who use techniques requiring less water and fewer pesticides. You may be wondering about that remaining one per cent. That's elastane for added stretch, to make the jeans ultra-comfortable as well as sustainably stylish. And those turn-ups? A dash of cool to bring an effortless edge to any outfit.
