String lights don’t have to stay on the tree – switch things up with these bright ideas
The most magical festive sight I ever saw was a mountain village in South America where every building was outlined in tiny white lights. Rigging up roof lighting might not be on your Christmas to-do list (although don’t let us cramp your seasonal style if it is!), but twinkling fairy lights are sure to bring a touch of enchantment to your home, wherever you display them. Create a feature by draping them around a window or mirror, over shelves, or along a sideboard or mantelpiece – or arrange them inside a large glass vase for a simple but striking table centrepiece.
