SPRING STYLE

EASY LAYERING
TIPS FOR
LAIDBACK STYLE

Stay warm – but look effortlessly cool – with our favourite layering pieces for dressed-down spring days

The wear-anywhere overshirt

The secret to effortless spring style? Look for versatile pieces in complementary colours and let the layering do the talking. A cotton overshirt, for example, is guaranteed to be one of your most worn pieces of the season. We’ll be wearing this classic khaki version, which has a comfy relaxed fit.

Chuck on over sweaters, like this pure cotton sweatshirt or hoodie, when it’s cold outside or a simple T-shirt when warm weather finally arrives. Finish the look with ecru chinos or jeans and your favourite pair of trainers. When it comes to the trousers, pick a shade darker or lighter than the overshirt to add contrast.

STYLE THE DENIM OVERSHIRT

The modern way to wear stripes

This striped sweater is a low-effort, high-impact choice for your new-season wardrobe. It’s made with recycled materials for a soft and cosy feel. Stylish but understated, it’s a great building block for easy layering. It will look great with denim and chinos, or try it with slim-fit ecru jeans for something a little more fashion forward.

Keep cosy by adding some additional layers. A bright blue anorak with a water-repellent finish will help to keep you dry in any sudden showers. When warmer days arrive and the sun finally shines, lose the jacket and add some sunglasses.

Elevate your look with the right finishing touches

Accessories can power up your everyday style in seconds. A cap is one of our favourite layering heroes, concealing bad hair days while adding instant cool factor. Reach for this ribbed beanie hat in red or forest green to work colour into your look on chillier days, or try it in black, navy or grey if bold hues aren’t really your thing.

Bags and backpacks are also great for stowing your essentials in style: we’re big fans of our scuff-resistant backpack, which features plenty of room for all your must-haves. If you’re happiest in neutral colours, adding accessories can be a low stakes way to introduce a splash of colour to your favourite outfits. Finally, don’t underestimate the power of a slick watch to add the finishing touch.
