BODYSUITS FOR KIDS
WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Introducing our specialist range of all-in-ones

Dressing children isn’t easy at the best of times, but it can be particularly challenging when it comes to kids with special needs. Those with sensory processing needs may find fabrics, trimming, buttons – even patterns and bright colours – irritating and the cause of anxiety. Which is why we’re increasing the size and age range of our collection of specialist vests and sleepwear. Made using soft, easy-to-wash cotton with no-chafe hems, these stylish pieces cover tots to teenagers. “Having the right clothes can make an enormous difference to kids with special needs,” says Andrea McFarlane, whose son Xander, 15, has high-functioning autism. “The irritation of seams, tight cuffs or itchy labels is all-consuming and blocks out all ability to cope with normal life, so good on M&S for broadening their range.” There’s also an Easy Dressing uniform range, designed with the help of the National Autistic Society, to help make dressing for school easier and more comfortable, too.
