A FIRESIDE
SWEET TREAT

Bite into a grown-up autumn treat with a difference – our decadent Bramley apple and almond tart

There are a few phrases that always get me going when it comes to pudding. ‘All butter’ is one, because I’m of the camp that knows you can’t beat traditional creamy butter when it comes to baking. ‘Spiced fruit’ is another, especially if it’s in season like apples and pears, which are at their most ripe and flavoursome now. All of this could explain why I love our new, fresh-for-autumn apple and almond tart. Made from spiced apple compote, topped with almond cream and British Bramley apples poured into a crisp, sweet pastry shell, this tart was made for cosy nights around the fire.
