Known as “the king of wines and the wine of kings”, Nebbiolo has an alluring perfume of rose petals, violets and tar. On the palate, a firm, powerful structure with notable tannins promotes long ageing. Gianni Voerzio has created a more floral, charming wine from the warm 2009 vintage.
Gianni, brother to cult winemaker Roberto, runs a 14 hectare estate in the heart of the Barolo region, La Morra where the terroir gives a softer and more elegant expression of the classic Nebbiolo grape. Aged in small barriques, this wine has great complexity and will continue to develop additional layers over the next 3-5 years.
