Would query sizing as grandsons actual size were much too small and larger size also proved too small

I bought these instore back in April for my son to wear in the classroom instead of the school pumps. 3 weeks later, he brought them home.....the strap on one of them had come off, and where the holes are around the edges had fallen apart. The material is like foam inside. Not happy at all.
