Adjustable Waist Padded & Belted Coat with Stormwear™

My husband and I are planning on coming to the UK to spend Christmas with his family this year and as we live in Australia, I am very worried about how cold it is going to be, so thought the best plan was to buy a decent winter coat from M&S! After reading other reviews of people using this coat for walking dogs and other outdoor (in the cold!!) activities, I thought this would be the one! Now it has arrived, I am delighted with it - it is very cosy and roomy enough to cater for thick jumpers underneath! So I am now looking forward to getting out and about in the UK in Dec/Jan (maybe I just need some new boots as well!).

Just love this coat. I am size 14 and ordered the Large size. It is a fraction big but good for bulky winter clothes worn underneath it. Even the removable hood is nicely padded. Nicely finished. Just hope we have an extra cold winter in Auckland so I can wear it often. Prompt delivery. Thanks M & S

Coat was what I was looking for to replace a similar coat that has served me well for several years. I like the length and the fact it has a detachable hood (inc fur trim). The difference between this coat and my previous per una coat is the belted waist which adds a bit of shape to the coat. Without the belt when the coat is fastened I felt that it was a bit big but with a pull string to bring in the bottom of the coat it is better. Unfastened, the coat hangs well. I bought the coat in the sale so feel that is excellent value. Am hoping is serves me as well as my previous coat. Use it for playground duty and just a general day to day. Great in winter as such a good length to keep dry.

This is by far my favourite coat ever. The fit is perfect for me, even though I'm on the short side. It's comfy, cosy, and I feel good when wearing it, highly recommend this coat.

Bought this on line so did not view beforehand. Found it quite a snug fit, so not roomy enough for a thick jumper underneath. Read one review before buying which stated that the ribbon trim inside was rather sharp and had caused her jumper to snag badly, but decided tp risk buying because all the other reviews were excellent. Unfortunately I did find this ribbon trim to be quite stiff and sharp. I have returned the item. I bought it in the sale and had I paid the full price I really would have said it was not worth the money.

Really pleased with it. The fabric feels lovely.Got drenched by a big wave watching the unusually high tide at the weekend. I was nice and dry and the coat washed beautifully. The only thing I didn't understand was that the description says adjustable waist and the only adjustment I could see was the belt.

Recently purchased this item and it fits perfectly and finishing is too good. Would recommend if any one looking such model.

I tried this coat on at a recent trip to the UK and greatly regretted not buying it. I found it online and was so pleased with the fast shipment. I love the coat!

Bought this coat just before Xmas but only wore it twice until I took it on a city break abroad. It's a lovely coat, nice style and fit BUT... on the day I wore a jumper underneath it the striped ribbon joining the 2 sections of lining rubbed horrible snags on my jumper. On closer examination the ribbon has nasty sharp edges and it caused the woollen jumper to pill terribly. I will have to cover it with some softer ribbon, though I don't expect to have to do this when paying this price for something. Will be contacting customer services.
