Christain Lebaupin Burgundy Pinot Noir 2009:
Delicious red Burgundy full of generous baked plum and red fruit characters: strawberries, raspberries and hedgerow fruits dance on the tongue. There's an unmistakable earthy warmth at its core - call it forest floor or mushroom if you like, it's peculiar to all good Burgundy! And on the finish, there's lingering nutty rusticity. This is Pinot Noir at its classic best.
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Pinot Noir is the perfect grape for revealing a wine's 'sense of place'. It expresses itself differently from village to village and vineyard to vineyard - a plot of vines only metres from another can develop wildly different characters. The Pinot Noir for this wine comes from a selection top Côte d'Or sites, carefully matched for their similar characteristics by winemaker Matthieu Roux.
SERVING:
The elegance and refinement of this Pinot Noir makes it an ideal match for delicate aromatic dishes such as vegetable salads, meat or poultry tarts, or simmered beef and vegetables (pot au feu). It's also a perfect choice for those who like to match red wine with fish.

Manzanos Reserva 2007:
Fabulously bold Rioja. Layers of blackcurrant, bitter cherry and coffee, spice and star anise hurtle onto the palate in a great wave of flavour. There are caramel and sweet vanilla tones too, and raisin and fig flavours on the finish. This big, rich wine maintains a balance of lively fruit and oaky complexity.
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Young winemaker Borja Ripa is rapidly establishing a name for himself as one of Rioja's rising stars. At only 32, Borja has some 10 vintages under his belt, having worked in a number of the top Spanish wine regions as well as gaining New World experience in Australia. For this rich red wine, Borja sources grapes from the best sites in the Rioja Baja, specifically the 'Pago Viña Marichalar' vineyards that surround the village of San Adrián.
Planted on clay-limestone soils, the vines have an average age of 25 years.
SERVING:
A robust, bold red that works brilliantly with the slightly minty/herby notes of lamb casserole or roast lamb. While it might overpower the turkey, it'll be a treat with rich meats like venison or goose, too. Or match the fig and raisin notes with a plate of fines cheese and dried fruits.

ABOUT THIS WINE:
The Loire Valley is a treasure trove of fine Sauvignon Blanc and the appellation of Pouilly-Fumé is home to some of the very best in the world. This example has been made with great care, with fruit selected from some of the finest, flintiest sites.
